The premise for this comedy is about life among the Mormons during the 1870s in Utah. Lara plays the eldest of three orphaned sisters with no means of support living in a shack that burns down. Their neighbor, John becomes their guardian. Emily (Lara) falls in love with him, catches pheumonia and as a dying wish implores him to marry her so they can be together for eternity. He finally agrees and then leaves. Upon his return he finds that she has recovered and is ready and willing to consummate their marriage. He fights it, but she persists. After efforts to annul the marriage, he finally falls in love with her.





Lulu

Story written by Frank Wedekin (German Expressionist ) Action takes place in the late 1800's. The concept of this drama is that Lulu epitomizes the destructive side to the feminine nature. Created by society, she becomes the symbol of timeless feminine sexuality and male desire, as she reflects the dangers inherent to both. The story focuses specifally on the sexual desire of men, regardless of differences in wealth and social position. Lulu is all things to men, the 'eternal feminine heroine'. *NOTE: Lara's Dark Shadows cast mate, Geoffrey Scott who played Sky Rumson (Angelique's husband) is also in this play. Geoff and Lara are featured in the last photo on the right.






A Gun Play

A comedy of the absurdity of violence poking fun at society's corruption, only to be settled with a tommygun. Set in a restaurant, the rapid fire disaster starts as the play opens. The characters include the Supervisor Maitre d', a waiter (the only honest person there), the clientele which includes the gunman, a numpho-maniac model, a chinless stockbroker, a woman columnist, a well-known painter and a young married couple. These people represent the 'canker in our society'.



Mrs. Scrooge

This contemporary adaption of Charles Dickens' classic tale "A Christmas Carol" is set in modern day Manhattan. Her character is based on the familiar Ebenezer Scrooge, the tightwad, flinty businessman who has no time or kindness for Christmas, no interest in holiday cheer and no need for "Glad Tidings" or "Joy to All". This event was done to promote a charity, "Help is on the Way Today" assisting children with AIDS. Lara participated in a Q&A following the performances.
